This image - "Peter and the Wolf" - is by a designer/artist friend of mine Siggi Eggertsson, whose portfolio you guys should check out. He has the best taste in color combination - I'm always amazed when he can put together works made up of 20-30 colors but they always seem to match and complement each other, like in the image above. The colors have the same muted tones so they fit together perfectly.
It took me a while to realize what put me off so much about this label - it's the colors. There's four different main colors in this design and they have nothing to do with each other, there's no connection somehow. And that gradient from the yellow to the blue is not doing great things either...
